Character Polynomials, their q-Analogs and the Kronecker Product
Dedicated to Anders Björner on the occasion of his sixtieth birthday. Abstract The numerical calculation of character values as well as Kronecker coefficients can efficently be carried out by means of character polynomi-als. Yet these polynomials do not seem to have been given a proper role in present day literature or software. To show their remarkable simplicity we give here an " umbral " ver...
متن کاملq-ANALOGS OF GENERALIZED FIBONACCI AND LUCAS POLYNOMIALS
The Fibonacci operator approach inspired by Andrews (2004) is explored to investigate q-analogs of the generalized Fibonacci and Lucas polynomials introduced by Chu and Vicenti (2003). Their generating functions are compactly expressed in terms of Fibonacci operator fractions. A determinant evaluation on q-binomial coefficients is also established which extends a recent result of Sun (2005).
متن کاملq-Beta Polynomials and their Applications
The aim of this paper is to construct generating functions for q-beta polynomials. By using these generating functions, we define the q -beta polynomials and also derive some fundamental properties of these polynomials. We give some functional equations and partial differential equations (PDEs) related to these generating functions. By using these equations, we find some identities related to t...
متن کاملKronecker Conjugacy of Polynomials
Let f, g ∈ Z[X] be non-constant polynomials with integral coefficients. In 1968 H. Davenport raised the question as to when the value sets f(Z) and g(Z) are the same modulo all but finitely many primes. The main progress until now is M. Fried’s result that f and g then differ by a linear substitution, provided that f is functionally indecomposable. We extend this result to polynomials f of comp...
متن کاملKronecker Product of Networked Systems and their Approximates
The paper presents a system theoretic analysis of network-of-networks which are formed from smaller factor networks via graph Kronecker products. We provide a compositional framework for extending trajectories, stabilizability, controllability and observability of the factor networks to that of the composite network-of-networks. We proceed to delve into the effectiveness of applying these compo...
